Although i had not yet see the 2017 Justice League feature film, this 2014 animated feature film story seems to be the story that it is based upon, which is based upon a graphic novel version. For me it was the first time that I saw any "origin story" of Aquaman and found this story to be a fairly interesting story with really good quality of animation. It featured the family conflicts between Aquaman, his half brother and their mother, the Queen of Atlantis. This story of Atlanteans divided over whether to go to war against the "land dwellers," over the destruction of the Oceans, in which they life. It features the Green Lantern, Batman, the Flash, Superman, Wonder Women, Cyborg and Shazam. The reservations I have with this film, is the way that they are "introducing" Shazam (not really knowing if this is the first film that actually introduced Shazam with the Justice League; and the way of some inconsistencies. Superman declares to Aquaman, that as "a lone survivor from his planet"...what about Supergirl? It seems to suggest that this was the first time that Justice League made a commitment to being a group and invited Aquaman to it. Superman and Wonder Women go on a date. It also showed Aquaman being stabbed in once scene, and then quickly up and fighting the climatic fight, without seeming to have any stomach wounds! I don't know the history of Shazam that well, so it may just be me, but the way that they portrayed him, as a wise cracking after thought, seemed out-of-place. Perhaps it is because he really is a young boy and acts like one?
