The fantastical stylings of Director Tim Burton are on full display here in this dark, moody and musical rendition of the tale of Sweeney Todd, the vengeful barber who after being unjustly sent to prison by the wickedly cruel Judge Turpin and the death of his wife, returns to London where he sets up his unscrupulous business and adds the element of murder to his occupation. Accompanied by his accomplice Mrs. Lovett the piemaker, he butchers several unsuspecting patrons and their throats are slit thus making them an ingredient in the meat pies. Everything comes together, and this is a delightfully fun and dark movie.
