The 1996 film, 'Emma', starring Gwyneth Paltrow, is a beautiful portrayal of Jane Austen's book. The story follows Emma as she tries successfully (and unsuccessfully) match-making her friends together and the trouble she gets herself into as a result. The acting is wonderfully done and the film brings about several laughs without being a comedy. It is a slower movie than other film adaptations of Jane Austen's novels. Despite this flaw, it is an enjoyable watch. I'll give it a 3 out of 5. - @papertiger of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
