This book was way too long and i kept losing interest. The plot was interesting, an overweight lady who wanted to be noticed beyond her appearance. Although this book is mature and not really suitable for young adults, i think this is a book young adults could read. We are constantly being judged by appearance, and i don't blame society for looking at appearance because that is the first thing people will see. However, i do blame society for making people who aren't stick thin to feel bad about themselves and encourage girls to become unhealthy to be skinny. Let's face it, if a guy really wants you, they'll like you for who you are. Jemima did lose weight, and really fast as well (just saying), in order for Ben to notice her, but throughout the book, there were so many hints that those two were going to end up for each other. What i found a little messed up was the fact that Jenny and Brad were together. I mean, if i were Jenny i would not have been able to let my man sleep with another girl. I know Jenny was giving a cold shoulder to Jemima, which kind of gave it away that Jenny and Brad had something going on, but still, my man is my man, i can't share him with anyone. I honestly don't understand why Brad and Jenny were keeping it a secret anyways, if Brad really did love Jenny, he doesn't need to hide that he's with Jenny, who by the way isn't gorgeous and thin but on the chubby side. Adults confuse me sometimes. I kind of wanted Ben and Jemima to be, i don't know, sweeter? The way they ended up together wasn't romantic or heart warming at all. If it was i would have loved the story.
