I agree with the previous comment. I thought it was a "new" book and it is horribly dated. Also, the female main character's parents are anthropologists & she is supposed to be auditing anthropology classes; as someone with an anthropology degree, I have to say that many of the references to other cultures border on offensive and would only stem from an anthropology student in perhaps 1920.

"Fever" shows a release date of 2012 but after a few sentences, I looked at the copyright which was 1988, so this is one of those dated pulp fiction, bodice ripping, trembling virgin, macho ranch hand novels. I found the characters down right creepy and returned it to the library after 3 chapters.
