When you have dysfunction and mix it with humor and drama you've got a great, great TV series. William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum are absolutely great.

This just keeps getting better. The pace here slowed a little in comparison to Season 1, but that just makes it more realistic. Still hilarious, still great.

It is hard to imagine a more dysfunctional family than the Gallaghers. In the second season of Shameless (a very apt title) Frank is up to his usual antics of drinking and drugging especially when his wife Monica returns home. Frank's mother makes an appearance when she gets out of prison early for health reasons. Fiona keeps the household running and even goes on a few dates since Steve (Jimmy) has left the country. Phillip (Lip) decides to support Karen when he learns that Karen is pregnant and the child may be his progeny. Steve arrives in Chicago unexpectedly, married to a Brazilian mob boss' daughter, and tries to win back Fiona. All season long the episodes are filled with obnoxious and rude behavior. It is possible to laugh at and feel sorry for Gallagher family at the same time.
