i whole heartedly agree with elcycad. I'm a huge fan of Winstone and the opening is so promising. Unfortunately it goes downhill from there and gets, well, boring to be frank.

This movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. Not too bad---good performance. I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.

Could be a decent Broadway show, if not for the very strong british foul language, since all but a few minutes of the film are inside one room where 4 middle aged men tried to decide on the fate of a young French waiter whom they kidnapped for adultery with one of the men's gorgeous wife. Nice out of the blue yet endearing dialogues about a broad slice of men - gay, mother's boy at 50's, bigot, volatile ...

Good photography...great witty dialogue...great acting, but apart from the visually captivating opening scene the rest of the movie is quite slow. Lots of promise but lacks punch.

Skip It – 44 Inch Chest (2009) 95 min. What would one expect from a film that includes a premise of a bunch of guys kidnapping the lover of one of their friend’s adulterous wife in order to evoke some sort of vengeance? Probably what it delivers – dialogue “rich” with expletives, curses, and abusive insults that would make Andrew Dice Clay seem like Beaver Cleaver. This film falls into the new genre of film that focuses on sensationalism through the spoken word to shock one into watching. It’s been done before and because of that, I felt bored during the first half of the film. The only redeeming quality in the film may actually be its conclusion; which is contrary to what you’d expect from the attention given to those that promote violence rather than find ways to forgive. The concept was interesting but the delivery left me wanting to fast forward most of the film.
