Many pop stars are best known for their hit singles rather than for whole albums per se. Madonna arguably qualifies, and this release is an excellent collection of her best work. It includes the wonderful "Borderline" and "Holiday" from her early career as well as later tracks (although things stop at 1990, which is when this came out, so many nice tracks from her later material is sadly missed).

To be completely honest here - I have never cared much about Madonna, nor about her carefully calculated, publicity-seeking tactics, either. And, of course, when it comes to her music, I can, pretty much, take it or else leave it (with just a shrug of total indifference).

Born in Bay City, Michigan (in 1958) as Louise Ciccone (with the Catholic name of "Madonna" added at her confirmation) - This ambitious woman's career (as one of the most popular, female singers in pop music history) has endured now for 30 years.

Often referred to by critics as "Minnie Mouse on Helium" - Madonna's records have collectively sold over 300 million copies, worldwide.

This "Immaculate Collection" contains 17 tracks in all which were recorded during Madonna's heyday in the years from 1983-1990.

This was her best CD to date. Most of her songs were good to listen to.
