"Mary Smith is a poor working girl who literally has a fortune dropped in her lap when a wealthy financier tosses a sable coat out a window and it lands on her. Everyone automatically assumes she's his mistress, and soon her fairytale-like rags-to-riches lifestyle threatens a very real romance with an inept waiter"--Container.

This is a delightful film with Jean Arthur. The plot is engaging and funny--a very typical 1940-50 comical structure is applied. The actors do a splendid job and some familiar faces from "You Can't Take It With You" will greet the audience when watching "Easy Living." This is a fun, clean film for families to enjoy.

Just watch to enjoy. It's wacky and yes, even stupid at times, but this oldie but goody is a fun ride (love the hotel suite set-incredibly imaginative).

Had never heard of this Preston Sturges script and decided to watch. Well worth the time! Lots of the usual Sturges physical humor, word play and nearly implausible chain of events. However, as good as it is, I realized that Preston Sturges was truly the master at directing his own material. Jean Arthur and the rest of the cast is delightful.

Possibly one of the best comedies ever made.

Hate your job? Depressed? As in The Great Depression? Indulge your wildest Cinderella fantasies here. Writer Preston Sturges should take most of the credit, but the direction and cast is nearly perfect. Edward Arnold and Jean Arthur make such a terrific couple that SPOILER it's a shame she ends up with his son instead. Ah well, we can't all marry hilarious multi-billionaires.
