This is a design book about improving your house that doesnt́ contain a single photograph. I am not showing you my work and telling you to copy it or emulate it or be inspired by it. There are no before and after shots here, no big reveals, no secret tips, no eye candy. This book is all about what makes you smile and feel good. This book is also about what your house looks like now, and working with that. This book is full of ideas, inquiries, and insights that will get you thinking and moving. Iḿ so excited to help you fill in the giant blank between "I hate my house! Iḿ lost" and "I love this spaceítś so me.".

What a great little book on Home decorating. I flipped through while at the Library and knew I needed to take it home to read more. I love the authors take on a home, we all have things we dislike about our house but her take is that any house can be a home, when filled with things that give us joy. Starting small, I am working on putting those accessories together that make me happy and hanging all those pieces of small furniture and artwork that will turn my rooms into homey spaces.

This is the best book I've read on turning a house into a home. It's not one of those books full of photos that belong in Architectural Digest. It's a book that allows you to focus on what you love and hate about your home, what it takes to change the problem areas to improve the function, and how to add the personal touches needed to make it truly yours. I keep re-checking it out as I continue to work on various areas in our home. Highly recommended.

I love this book. After reading her ideas, the very first area, I tackled was my front hall which was a landing spot for everything despite plenty of storage and containers.
One of her suggestions was to put the most important items to you, in your decor. I steal ideas I have liked especially from friends. Her tips include looking at your friends' homes and using their special touches.
Her formula is unique and personal for each individual. She does not want you to copy a trend or magazine.
