***SPOILERS*** Although Season 4 of Once Upon a Time wasn't the best season ever, it was still very enjoyable, exciting, magical, and action-packed. The relationships are beautiful and heartbreaking. 4A introduces Frozen and the Snow Queen, who has something to do with both Elsa and Emma. 4B is about the villains trying to get their happy endings, and features Maleficent, Cruella, and Ursula (the Queens of Darkness). Many viewers stopped watching during this season but I still thought it was amazing. Best episodes: 7 (The Snow Queen), 8 (Smash the Mirror), 9 (Fall), 11 (Heroes and Villains), 15 (Poor Unfortunate Soul), 17 (Heart of Gold), 21 (Operation Mongoose Part 1), and 22 (Operation Mongoose Part 2). Definitely watch this incredible series, you won't regret it!

Although many viewers seemed to see this season as the death of Once, I loved it. I enjoyed fan fiction-esque Frozen arc, which did an excellent job of delving more into Anna and Elsa's story while keeping them in character. The Queens of Darkness arc was a little more shaky, and the first 3/4 of the season finale felt contrived and inaccurate as to what the show had been hinting at since the introduction of the Author (as an idea, not the character himself). But the final moments did manage to wrap up the season nicely while leaving us all dangling over a cliff (hanger). Lilly is a great addition to the show. Snow and Charming's darkness was a good idea, but eventually took over later episodes and was dragged out for too long. I would have liked to see more of the "second tier" regulars, Henry, Hook, Belle, and Will, who were drowned out by Snowing, Emma, Regina, and Rumple. Ursula was wasted, but Cruella's character was one of best twists on this show. Ingrid is definitely my favorite of the Once villains. All in all, I found this to be a great season, and I'm very excited to see Camelot and the new Dark One come season five this September.
