Not as good as his first book. He is a good writer and reader, but after awhile I got tired of hearing how much he loved his family…..

I've enjoyed both Rob Lowe's books. They aren't scandalous 'tell-alls' by any means, so if you're looking for inside gossip, it really isn't there. Which I like. I enjoy biographies in general, but some are so focused on drugs and sex and nothing else, that they bore me. Rob Lowe's books are different. He's very honest about his perceived failings as a human being and an actor, but he's also very honest about trying to grow into a better person from his experiences. As a writer, he's very good (which in my opinion, is rare), and he's also very funny (rarer, still). The sasquatch story in this book, for example, is not only well-told, but it made me laugh aloud.

An honest- well written insight about his life and experiences by this long time actor. This was more engaging than I thought it would be. This is Lowe’s second book and not having read his first I wondered if reading it was wise, but this one seems to stands alone. Each chapter an interesting story or insight and I will definitely follow up “Stories I only tell my friends”.

"A collection of personal writings by the actor, producer and best-selling author of Stories I Only Tell My Friends discusses such topics as his work on a flop television show, an actor's preparation exercises and his experiences while coaching a kids' basketball team dominated by omnipresent helicopter parents."
