This book was suited to my tastes, but I can understand why others might not have enjoyed it as much as I did. It is indeed "quirky" and jumps around a lot between past and present, but the offbeat characters and general writing style kept me riveted. I got used to the narrator's voice quickly, though at first I was worried I wouldn't be able to make it through the audiobook. At the end of the CD you find out (via an interview) that the author and narrator are close friends as well. Not novel of the year, but refreshing nonetheless.
Sometimes charming and interesting; other times a little tedious. But I'm glad I read it.
Quirky, and sometimes disjointed in parts
