good entertaining read, great brain candy and certainly does make you wonder...what if...

Steve Berry provides another fun and exciting adventure/thriller. While at times far-fetched in plot, you really start to wonder, "What if the Library of Alexandria still exists?" After finishing the novel, I was compelled to research the history of the library. Although thought to have perished forever, the thought that the library could still exist is explored by secret agent, Cotton Malone. When he discovers that the existence of the library could have far reaching impact and shape future and historical thought on religion, the reader is posed with the question of whether it would be worth the discovery, if it changes many of the things we believe to be true.

Cotton Malone series has been a source of reading enjoyment from the first book to the one I now am reading.

I suppose the comment by "rahmmie" is accurate to an extent ( I don't find the character development to be THAT bad) - but these books are not meant to be great classic literature. They are fun reads with the extra of some fascinating historical places and facts - this book is no exception. I really enjoyed it. Again, I learned things I had not known about the ancient Middle East and ancient writings. And, as always, I really enjoyed the author's note that separates the fact from the fiction and gives insight into how he got the idea for the story.

A very Berry book. Entertaining, with a cartoonish plot, shallow character development, and the feeling that he's a Dan Brown wannabe

If you like ancient mysteries (like DaVinci Code) you will like Steve Berry's books.

This is the third one I have read and have so far found them to be engrossing and entertaining.

Anyone who enjoyed Dan Brown's Angels and Demoms or Da Vinci Code will enjoy this one too.
