Naturally, I was recommended this book by my school librarian in my elementary years. Little did I know that it was a story that would remain with me forever. Dewey is a small cat that is left in a box outside of a library, and it is easy to say that this feisty and adorable feline was “brought up by librarians”. When I learnt that this was a real story, it warmed my heart right over. Dewey managed to become a symbol of courage, hope and miracles all in one. A high recommendation from me! For the younger audiences, as this is a modification of the adult memoir that Vicki Myron penned. Rating 5/5

I LOVE this book! It's sad at the end but it is still amazing. It's really funny too. Go check this book out the next time you go to the library.

The kitten was abandoned in the library’s book return box. Named Dewey Readmore Books, he became one of the most important members of the library staff in Spencer, Iowa.

A true story - well told. I like the small-town life and history presented by the librarian. Dewey the Cat truly saved the town and brought it together.

This is a thoughtfully musing, humorous, poignant tale well worth a read. I enjoyed it.
