Award-winning writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (HBO's Big Love), and artists Mike Perkins (CaptainAmerica) and Laura Martin (Astonishing X-Men), join forces to bring one of the great novels of modern literature to life through graphic art storytelling. Stephen King is a very literary writer. By which I mean that much of what makes King's writing compelling is the word use and wordplay itself. As such, most adaptations of King's works fail to capture what made them interesting as works of literature. This comic adaptation tries to get around that problem by layering King's prose over competent but dull journeyman level artwork like some classics of literature graphic novel adaptation attempting to make the literature canon 'cool'. The technique works as well here as it does with classics, destroying the vital nature of the writing and leaving it like dead wallpaper on a badly framed graphic novel. Read the novel. Don't bother with this.

The phenomenal artwork collaborates great with the story. Marvel's done a great job converting some of Stephen King's best into a comic!
