An early take on Makers and the maker mentality (or at least Doctorow's perspective on it).

Not as good as some of Doctorow's short story collections. Began well, but I felt wandered a bit aimlessly. Still full of god ideas but more like a manifesto than a novel.

An enjoyable read describing what may very well be our near future. Well (but not superbly) written. Plot progression is a bit non-standard -- more like a biographical work than a standard novel (especially of this genre).
