Add a CommentAs a beginning baker I appreciated Melissa's step-by-step instructions and successfully made some delicious cakes from this book! I also liked her funny commentary about her NPR colleagues and tips about the recipes. Wish there were photos for more of the cakes though, and did not like that sometimes a photo for a cake was many pages away from the recipe with no note or page number reference.
This is a must have cake cookbook! It includes great cakes and some great history with the cakes. And the photos are perfectly displayed.
This is a delightful book for both novice and experienced bakers. Easy to follow directions, great photos and sure to be appreciate by the lucky eaters! Makes a great gift too.
I love this book. It's made up primarily of bundt cakes, but even if you've never baked a bundt cake, this book will work for you. She starts out with easy cakes and they get progressively more difficult.
I highly recommend this book, especially the sour cream coffee cake recipe.
