Frightened Rabbit presents an interesting mix: Foul-mouthed sensitivity, gently appealing songs about being "Old Old Fashioned" side by side with songs about homicidal misogynists, edginess with obvious pop single ambitions. Overall this is a good album, though it sometimes tries too hard to veer off in one direction or the other (either violent iconoclasm or bland conventionality). We'll see what happens on their later albums.
