Dorothy Gale, a.k.a. DG, is all grown up and bored. She mopes around working as a waitress and goes to school part time. Before she knows it, she's back in OZ and on the run from the evil sorceress Azkadellia, her storm troopers and clumsy bats. Along the way she falls in with some strange characters including the brainless Glitches; Raw, a cowardly and psychic lion-man hybrid; and, Wyatt Cain, a cowboy cop from Central City called a 'tin man' because of his tin badge.

Special effects were acceptable, though not first rate. Ditto for dialogue and acting.
Storyline was somewhat fun and twisty but never to the point where I was squirming with pleasure.

Definitely much more evil than the original story. Too slow for me and oh so predictable...

I thought this movie was ok Zooey Dechannel I thought was a little clueless but the story was not that bad. A good twist on the Wizard of Oz.

Anyone who likes the original Wizard of Oz movie should enjoy Tin Man which is a three part sequel spanning four and a half hours. There is a science fiction aspect to the movie as well as many tie-ins to the original Wizard of Oz. Several generations in the future DG, a descendant of Dorothy Gale, finds herself in the Outer Zone (O.Z.) finally realizing that she and her sister are two princesses of the Queen of the O.Z. DG is the "light force" and her sister became the "dark force" when an ancient evil witch took over her body. DG and the companions she meets on her journey travel the O.Z. trying to find DG's father and a magical emerald with mysterious powers. Tin Man has plenty of action and good special effects that enhance the overall storyline.

This does for the 'Wizard of Oz' what 'Never Never Land' did for 'Peter Pan',.. but even better !!
...I saw the whole four hours on a very rainy Saturday afternoon. Lots of popcorn and great fun !

This movie was entertaining and interesting but not one of my favorite for this year. “Not too bad---good performance”. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.”

Wizard of OZ modern interpretation. Fantasy, sci-fi, action. Very imaginative. A little bit of everything. Took a little while to get into it, but it was very good. It is 2 DVDs - 6 hours in total. It was originally made as a mini-series.

Wow...I was so excited to watch this....what great reviews.....however, after an hour of watching, I debated whether to shut it off, or give it a chance. I decided not to waste another minute of my life and turned it off. I am surprised that people thought that the acting was good. The acting was terrible!, but not their fault, the director let it happen. Im sorry to those who love this movie(series, whatever it is) but the acting was fake, diologue was cheesy, and the characters had no chemistry. The director, producers and writers tried WAY TOO hard to make this a hit! Kind of a mix between The Wizard of Oz, and the Star Wars Episodes, but really did not work.

Cain: It amazes me that you once influenced the queen.

DG: I'm DG. This is...
Cain: I know, a head-case.
Glitch: I have a proper name... and when I remember it I will tell you.
DG: What's a head-case?
Cain: It's what the state does to re-educate criminals. Remove their brains, and keep them trapped inside their own heads. Ain't that right, convict?
Glitch: Whoa, I ain't no convict!
Glitch: And just in case I am, it was a bogus charge, a frame job, I'm sure of it!
