I took out this book for one of my students. It proved very useful because we had the original text side by side with the easier to understand english. It was very useful for her as an ELL learner and having a smaller vocabulary. There were also practice questions and some analysis at the end of the novel which was also useful.

In regards to the plot this is one of the more "fun" Shakespears to read as it is a comedy not a tragedy and is actually a bit funny in parts. Deals with love/merchants/ jews in Venice.
