It is the year 2051, and Earth stands on the brink of acceptance as a full member of a confederation of worlds spread across the galaxy. The first of a brilliant new trilogy by the author of The Saga of Pliocene Exile, this is a grand-scale novel of political intrigue and life in the new frontier of a galactic civilization. I started reading Intervention, the prequel, on a holiday and got trapped by it. This is the same - a great read and very engaging. Both were a bit hard to get into but worth the effort to persist through the various discussions of meta-functions and relative strength, as these are left to the reader to interpret. Looking forward to reading the second book, Diamond Mask, but couldn't find the third book in the trilogy, Magnificat - any help?
