I loved this story. If it is from a Native American tribe, I've never heard it before. It didn't matter if it was a legend, or just a story. The heroine is a true free spirit, a wild woman that runs with horses instead of wolves, but who is still good to her parents. I loved the art, too. Wish this book had been around when I was a kid, I'm certain it would have been one of my favourites. I am going to seek out everything by this author. I found it that satisfying.

A lovely story, but frustrating in its lack of historical details. The story seems to be based on a Plains tribe legend, but which tribe? Which legend?
