This is a sad, but very compelling story. Short and sweet.

This is a beautifully told story about a reclusive, but sensitive, hunchback who lives on the coast in England. He tends to wounded wildlife and paints the wild marshlands as a way to escape the cruel towns-folk that tease him because of his deformities. He meets a girl that is very shy as well. In the end, the Dunkirk evacuation resulting in an emotionally intense ending.

This is a beautiful tale with WWII as a backdrop. Being a short story, you'll finish it in about half an hour.
