An excellent winter/science read about the first person to ever study and photograph snowflakes despite the general lack of appreciation around him.
About the scientist before his time that wanted to show that no two snowflakes were alike and that each one is startlingly beautiful . So he did devise a way to photograph snowflakes even though at the time the technology wasn't there like today. Wilson Bentley ,who the story is about , not only had a scientist's vision and perseverance , but a clear passion for the wonders of nature. Recommend this book , you won't be disappointed .
I used this book together with "Snowflakes in Photographs" by W. A. Bentley for a couple of Read In week school visits. for Division 2 (Grades 3-6)
