I can't believe this movie is only rated 4 STARS ON HERE! I MEAN, WHAT THE HECK?!?!? This movie is THE best! Has some language in it that you might want to pre-check for little kids and stuff. Other than that it is as I said THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite part is when Bethany, a self-absorbed teen that turns into an 'overweight middle-aged man' in the movie goes like "Wait a second...! WHERE'S MY PHONE?" Check out the gag reel too. So. Incredibly. Hilarious.
This story line was poorly which contributed to the poor acting. There were minor changes to the plot but nothing significant. The actors were stiff and seemed uncomfortable in their roles. Not close to being as good as the first Jumanji but it starred Robin Williams.
I liked this DVD. Four high school kids discover an old video game console and are drawn into the game's jungle setting, literally becoming the adult avatars they chose.
I certainly am glad that the airline I flew last summer had this movie as an option! Four students land themselves in more trouble than they expect when they jump into an old-fashion video game, and embody their characters. Unlikely friendships form as they conquer various challenges and persist to the end to defeat the evil forces in the background. Overall, the acting in this movie was thoroughly enjoying, and the humour helped to keep the story moving smoothly. @Siri of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
I liked this movie a lot, I am not a big fan of a rehashed concepts of classic films but this one really surprised me. For what I liked about this film let us start off with the best part, which is the cast. This film is filled with some fantastic performances by its four leads. But the stand out for me is Jack Black, this is one of my favorite films of his by far as he is somehow able to perfectly embody his character, the visual at times do really feel like a video game, the script is well written as its able to blend comedy and action pretty well and a lot of the comedy actually hits and the film has a great bare-bones story that deals with a lot of coming-of-age themes for each of its individual characters which was a nice layer to add, however while the story was layered it was also quite predictable and that can be off-putting for some viewers, however in a family adventure film I think it works and the villain is terribly underused and underwhelming in this film. Overall, Jumanji is an entertaining adventure comedy that modernizes a classic film without leaning heavily on the nostalgia, well the story is predictable the blend of comedy, actions and memorable performances help keep this game fresh. 4/5 Stars. @moviefanatic of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
It was okay. There were parts in the movie that I enjoyed, and others not so much. I also feel that there were some scenes that could have been shortened or omitted altogether. It's worth viewing though.
The four leads were all hilarious. LOL moments included Jack Black's self-professed amazement at his newfound male anatomy, Dwayne Johnson trying not to cry during a crisis, and Kevin Hart screaming "where's the rest of me??" in reference to his lack of height. This movie was a fun romp!
It was so funny. I was a expecting a bad movie, but I was surprisingly wrong. Has some bad stuff in it, like language and the lack of clothes on the girl. Worth a watch.
Was expecting more from this 2nd in the Jumanji series. Some lame jokes and action sequences which were hard to follow sunk this one imho. Better than the first, but that's not saying a lot!
Surprisingly, I loved this movie!!! The cast were extremely funny and a great family film.
This is a wonderful show. True entertainment. Resides in my watch-anytime list.
I was surprised at how much we enjoyed this movie, having heard such bad things. I really liked that the actors were avatars for teens; it brought a new light to the film. If you just want to forget about life for a while, you will enjoy this. (TH still can't believe that pretty red-head is also Nebula)
A good solid film, funny without being crude, a film you can watch with kids. Great cast, great locations, all around good fun.
This movie was honestly better than the book and the original movie with Robin Williams. I didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised. Dwayne Johnson continues to pick good roles that don't overstretch his abilities. The special effects are solid and overall it has enough humor and action to entertain and make it worth your time. Nothing offensive or overly violent. A nice family film.
When four high school teens accidentally find an old video game console they get transported into the game Jumanji. The four must learn to work together as a team to defeat the game before they become trapped there forever. Personally, I found this movie to be fairly predictable and more on the cheesy side. I mean, of course they would defeat the game, all become friends, and learn to be themselves. That aside, I did enjoy Jack Black playing Bethany. He really seemed like he was actually a teenage girl trapped inside a grown man's body. Not my thing, but would probably recommend to a younger audience. 3.5 Stars

"Overall, I quite liked Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, there is a lot about it to enjoy and to like. I didn’t expect a lot, but I didn’t think it was going to be terrible or anything, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the movie and liked it the entire way through. All of the characters are likable, all of the actors do a great job, they are clearly having fun and it shows..."

Dwayne Johnson is probably never going to win an Oscar for Best Actor, but he sure knows how to make a movie fun to watch. This is a really fun movie to watch with friends, family or on a date. The characters are enough of a misfit group to make it even more interesting. Special effects added to the fun factor.
That was funny when, Kevin Hart was riding the elephant!!! LOLOLOOLO!
Amazingly funny, active and creative! Actors did a great job of their roll reversals! Recommend for a familymovie night for sure!
Almost shockingly, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle succeeds as an inspired, hilarious and creative popcorn movie! I never saw the original, but I doubt it could entertain as well; the update to parody an adventure video game format is gold and gives a lot of material. Above all, the three hilarious actors Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black chew up the screen and all play off-type in an unexpected and intriguing way. Hart as a smart zoologist (after spewing facts: "How did I know that??"), Black as a teenage female (weird I know but it kinda works) and the Rock as a badass who is safety oriented and afraid of any risk. Karen Gillan keeps right up with them as a nerdy girl in a ass-kicking model's body. There is a lot of generic stuff in this movie, such as the bad guy, a lot of anonymous motorcycle fighters to beat up and random cgi animal attacks, but in the format of a video game it fits. The whole movie is near-perfect for summer: a mix of smarts, action and big laughs along with brainless "just go with it" lightness.
